Interest Rate Arbitrage

Interest Rate Arbitrage (Carry Trades) refers to the practice of borrowing in low interest rate currencies and investing in high interest rate currencies to earn the spread. In theory Carry Trades look easy if one takes for example Libor rates of below 0.5% and one year Indian treasury bill yields of 8% to earn a spread of 7.5% for the arbitrageur.
