Bond markets are starting on a bull run as bank deposit growth spurs heavy auction demand. Fourth quarter results are keeping equity markets on the edge.

Fixed Income Market Analysis - Bank Deposit Growth Spurring a Bond Rally 

Banks have added Rs 3.74 lakhs crores in deposits in the month of March 2013 to boost their balance sheets for the fiscal year. The strong deposit growth in March saw banks demand for government bonds go up in April bond auctions as banks have to maintain a minimum of 23% SLR on their Net Demand and Time Liabilities (NDTL).

Equity Market Analysis - Fourth Quarter Results Leading to Market Nervousness

Infosys released weak fourth quarter fy 13 results on the 12th of April resulting in the sharp fall in its stock price. Infosys took down the NSE IT index leading to a 10% fall in the index week on week. Markets are worried on more companies coming out with weak fourth quarter results.
