Art of Living foundation urges citizens to vote Posted: 15 Oct 2013 01:44 AM PDT More than 14,000 new voters in as many as 50 colleges, 30 corporate houses and 250 housing societies in the city were contacted by volunteers of 'I vote for better India' awareness campaign inspired by the 'The Art of Living' founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. The volunteers of the campaign were felicitated by Swami Suryapad, senior international teacher of 'The Art of Living', during a programme at Shivsankar hall on Sunday. The campaign is aimed at increasing awareness about the importance of voting, thereby developing a sense of responsibility towards the nation. tnnAccording to a statement issued by 'The Art of Living', the campaign started in the city on September 5. The statement further said a total of 250 volunteers are part of this drive. Nitin Pradhan, coordinator of the campaign, said about 1 lakh new voters are expected to register for the voter card during the campaign. Swami Suryapad emphasized the importance of voting as a service to the nation. Campaign coordinators Deepak Tawri, Arish Rajan and Rahul Sane were also felicitated on this occasion.
