Sri Sri Academy celebrated its third anniversary with an all faith concert that championed the idea of spiritual oneness.

"Music is the biggest unifier of the world. So we invoked the sense of a one-world family through music," said Suvina Shunglu, the principal of the school.

After the inaugural ceremony, students of the school put up dance recitals that propagated the idea of oneness. The next few hours witnessed a magical musical performance by Vikram Harza who has championed universal oneness through his music across 40 countries.

Vikram, the announcer said, does not only play music but opens up a doorway for his audience to touch their own souls. The words found proof in the recital.

He opened his recital with Sanskrit slokas and stotras and moved with elan from Kabir's couplets and Amir Khusro's poetry to Buddhist chants and African and Afro-American spiritual music. Vikram deftly switched to Meera, Raidas and Jaidev thereafter which melodiously blended with his rendition of contemporary blues and jazz. He showed how diverse styles seamlessly melted into an organic whole.

"The technology has shrunk the world into a village. But each village remains an island. Only spirituality can transform it into a family. This was the spirit of this programme," said Shunglu.

"If you go through the interviews of great leaders, you will find one thing common for every one - it is their influence of school. Schools are the place where future leaders are made. Education on the other hand has three elements - knowledge, skills and values. A child is born with values. a school must nurture it," said Murlidhar Koteshwar, member of the board of trustees of the Art of Living's Educational Trust.

Sri Sri Academy through its unique educational techniques strives to create thinking, balanced individuals with a broad vision who do not get swayed by the negative influences that come their way, said Shunglu.

The next few hours after the inauguration of the anniversary programme witnessed the magic woven through the voice and music of Vikram Hazra, who has championed universal oneness through his music performance across 40 countries. Vikram, the announcer told, just does not play music but open up a doorway for his audience to touch their own soul.

Vikram began with Sanskrit Shlokas, stotras and kept moving with an elan from Kabeer to poetry of Amir Khusrau, from Buddhist chants to African and Afro-American spiritual music and from there to Meera, Raidas, Jaidev to contemporary blues and jazz. Vikram's music seamlessly melt diverse styles into an organic whole.

"The technology has shrunk the world into a village. But each village remains an island. Only Spirituality can transform it into a family. This was the spirit of this anniversary programme," said Shunglu. The programme began with dance shows by school students that also drive home the same oneness.

"If you go through the interviews of the great leaders, you will find one thing common for every one. It is their influence of school. Schools are the place where future leaders are made. Education on the other hand has three elements - knowledge, skills and values. A child is born with values. a school must nurture it," said Murlidhar Koteshwar, member of the board of trustees of the Art of Living's Educational Trust.

So Sri Sri Academy through its unique educational techniques strives to create thinking, balanced individual with broad vision who does not swayed by the negative influences that may on their way, said Shunglu.
