Medical camps under Volunteer for Better India initiative

Under the banner of Volunteer for Better India, The Art of Living Foundation and Indian Medical Association- East Delhi Branch has launched a series of 108 Free Health Checkup & Awareness camps in slums of East & South East Delhi from 14 April-12 May 2013, every Sunday under the campaign "Har Ravivaar, Samaaj ke naam (every sunday is for society)". The first phase of these camps begins from Patparganj and Shahadara area with a huge response where a team of 70-80 doctors including some very senior doctors, diagnosed around 7,000 patients.

Under the dynamic leadership of Sh Maheish Girri ji- International Director- The Art of Living & team of dedicated doctors from IMA-this camp has proven to be a real boon for the slum dwellers. This initiative was possible with unpercented support of Global Meditating Doctors Association, Bharat Vikas Parishad, Indian Red Cross, Max Foundation, Dekho-Re, Anand Foundation Sewa, Samaj Vikas Samiti, Pratishtha Yuva Sangathan and SPYM. Goel Medicos- Shahadara sponsored all medicine and pharmacists for these camps. 

The camp was focused on free treatment for acute illnesses, detect chronic illnesses, provide health education for prevention of disease for Maternal Health & Save Girl Child Health education and personal hygiene awareness programs were conducted where doctors educated the patients about the need of keeping themselves healthy with very little precaution and awareness. 
On this occasion, Art of Living Blessers were also giving healing and blessings to all slum dwellers visiting the camp. Next camp will be held in Trilokpuri and Kondli area on 21st April 2013.
